These breast implants consist of an outer silicone shell filled with viscous silicone. Breast implants are available in various sizes, shapes and surfaces (smooth, nanotextured or textured).

The size of the implants depends on their width and profile (low, medium, high, extra high). The width or diameter of the implant is the most important factor in selecting the ideal breast implant size. It is important to measure the breast and ribcage precisely during the consultation in order to determine the ideal breast implant for your body. It is particularly important to ensure that the chosen implant size matches the anatomical features of your body, such as the width of your ribcage.

In terms of shape, a distinction is made between round, anatomical and, more recently, ergonomic implants. Anatomical, i.e. teardrop-shaped implants are characterized by the fact that the main volume is located in the lower part of the implant, so that this shape prevents excessive emphasis in the upper part of the breast. In contrast, round implants achieve more volume in the upper breast area and therefore a fuller décolleté. The third and most modern form is the so-called ergonomic implant (Motive Ergonomix®). Ergonomic implants - such as those frequently used by Dr. Simona Lüdi - are designed to behave like real breast tissue. These implants adapt to gravity and the movements of the body by assuming a teardrop shape when standing and a round shape when lying down. This allows particularly natural results to be achieved.

During the consultation, Dr. Simona Lüdi will be happy to show you the various implants so that you can feel them.

       Book consultation appointment

Basel, November 27, 2023 Nowadays, silicone implants are almost exclusively used for breast augmentation with implants.
