Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of our connective tissue and skin and ensures the elasticity and firmness of the tissue. Due to its water-binding ability, hyaluronic acid gives our skin moisture and elasticity.

As part of the natural aging process, the body's own hyaluronic acid and natural skin collagen are slowly degraded from around the age of 25, causing volume to be lost, skin elasticity and tone to decrease, and wrinkles to appear. We can counteract this with hyaluronic acid fillers and skin booster treatments (e.g. PROFHILO®) counteract. Therefore, hyaluronic acid is one of the most important substances in aesthetic medicine. Injections with hyaluronic acid give your face back its lost freshness and wrinkles and facial features can be optimized.

Hyaluronic acid fillers have a gel-like consistency. Depending on the indication, various hyaluronic acid products with different firmnesses or viscosities are used. The application possibilities are very versatile. The effect of hyaluronic acid usually lasts from 6 months to 2 years, depending on the product used and the area of application.

Wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid

Would you like to look fresh and refreshed again and alleviate a wrinkle or two a little?
Hyaluronic acid can be used to inject wrinkles such as nasolabial folds, marionette lines, upper lip wrinkles or other fine lines. This can correct a tired appearance or grim facial features, for example, due to drooping corners of the mouth or sunken cheeks. Different products are used depending on the depth of the wrinkle. The treatment gives you a fresh, refreshed and friendly appearance.

Lip modeling with hyaluronic acid

Do you want beautiful, naturally full lips or would you like to have lip asymmetry corrected?
Full lips are often considered beautiful and sensual, but this is not naturally given to everyone. The lips also change over time, so that the volume decreases and the lips often appear narrow. With lip modeling with hyaluron, you can fulfill your desire for beautiful, naturally full lips. The experience of Simona Lüdi, MD, makes it possible to achieve natural and discreet results that suit your face. Often, less is more. When lip modeling with hyaluronic acid, the lips can be given moisture in addition to a beautiful contour and volume. Asymmetries of the lips can also be corrected.

Cheek volume enhancement with hyaluronic acid

Furthermore, the cheekbones can also be emphasized by targeted injections with hyaluronic acid.
With the natural aging process, the face loses volume and the midface sinks, so that the face looks sunken and tired and the nasolabial folds and marionette wrinkles increase. Hyaluronic acid can also be used to add volume to the face, for example in the cheek area. This makes the face appear fresher and more vital, and the nasolabial and marionette folds also appear less pronounced.

Rhinoplasty with hyaluronic acid ("Liquid Rhinoplasty")

Have you wanted to have your hump nose corrected without surgery for a long time?
Liquid rhinoplasty" is a nose correction with hyaluronic acid. This allows a hump to be corrected or the tip of the nose to be lifted without surgery

Frequently asked questions

A filler is primarily a filling material that is used to build volume in the face or for wrinkle injections. The most common filler material is hyaluronic acid, which binds water and thus builds up volume. In this way, wrinkles can be plumped up or lost volume can be restored.

Wrinkle treatment with fillers is particularly suitable for people who suffer from initial volume deficits and superficial or even deeper wrinkles on the face. For example, fine perioral wrinkles, but also nasolabial folds or marionette lines can be injected and treated with fillers. Wrinkle injections with fillers rejuvenate the outer appearance and make it appear more lively and fresh.

Hyaluronic acid fillers have a gel-like consistency and are available in different firmnesses or viscosities. Depending on the indication, Dr. Lüdi uses different hyaluronic acid products and always adapts the product selection to your individual needs.

How long the result of a hyaluronic acid injection lasts depends on various factors: individual factors such as tissue condition and metabolism, treated area of the face, type and amount of product. The effect of hyaluronic acid usually lasts from 6 months to 2 years, depending on the factors mentioned.

Hyaluronic acid is particularly well tolerated because it is a substance produced naturally in the body. Once the effect of a hyaluronic acid treatment has worn off, it is possible to repeat the treatment without any problems.

Yes, as an antidote for hyaluronic acid we have what is called hyaluronidase or hylase.
Hylase is an enzyme produced naturally in the body which rapidly degrades hyaluronic acid (within 24 hours). Injections with Hylase can dissolve hyaluronic acid and thus correct overcorrections or filler migration, for example. However, Hylase works exclusively with hyaluronic acid; there is no antidote for other fillers.
